〜ようになる vs 〜ようにする

〜ようになる expresses a gradual, natural change in ability, habit, or circumstance over time, meaning to reach the point where something happens. 〜ようにする expresses a conscious and continuous effort by the speaker to make an action a regular habit or rule. Swapping them turns an intentional habit you actively try to maintain into an automatic or spontaneous change in ability.
